Welcome to our KHY Blog.  Let me introduce myself and a little bit about the content you will see here.

My name is Kris Larrison, I’m the Owner of Kris’ Hot Yoga 😊.  This blog will hopefully give you some new, educational, or just interesting insights to topics of ALL things health/wellness.  We may talk about the benefits of hot yoga or fitness – or we may throw in some healthy recipes.  Or – who knows?!  We may just talk! If there’s anything that you’d like to hear from us – let us know!

Let’s get started … again, I am the Owner of Kris’ Hot Yoga.  How did I get here?  Well – I’m a LOVER of all thing’s movement.  When people ask me what I do, I typically respond with “I own a yoga/fitness studio.”  Cool, right?!  Well – there’s more to it than that, LOL – but that’s another blog post.  Let’s get back to the Movement.  I honestly do not consider myself just a Yoga Teacher, Fitness Instructor, Personal Trainer, or any one of the sorts – I consider myself a Movement Specialist.  I literally have been “moving” since I was 7 months old – my Mom said I was just trying to keep up with my 4 older siblings (yep, that’s me the last of 5).  I guess that is probably true.  I always wanted to do EVERY sport my siblings did – and I wanted to do it BETTER.  That drive pretty much motivated me throughout my entire career because I haven’t stopped moving since.  From beating the boys in grade school, to an undefeated middle school track season, to 5 sports in high school, college track, post college road racing, teaching just about any fitness class imaginable (except kickboxing – idk why, I just don’t like it 😊) Anyway, it’s been a fun, interesting adventure, and it’s the reason why I’m still moving at 55 (halfway to 56 – yikes).  In some ways, I feel stronger than in my 20’s – but of course, I’m nowhere near as fast nor nimble, but that’s OK.  Being able to study all types of movement has allowed me to grow physically, emotionally, and spiritually.  And I hope that throughout my years of teaching, I’ve helped others grow as well.

Whether you consider yourself a Movement Specialist, like myself, or you just like to “do yoga” or “take a barre class” or “pick up some weights” – I hope you find some form of “movement” here at KHY that makes you feel better – makes you feel stronger – makes you feel more flexible – makes you feel more blessed ….
