From Sweaty Mess to Best Dressed: Quick Beauty Hacks for Post-Workout

Devyn knows a thing or two about the early morning hustle, as she instructs the Barefoot Bootkamp every Monday, Wednesday, Friday morning at the studio 🏋️‍♀️ and then it’s off to her 9-5!

Whether you are heading straight to work after a sweaty KHY class, or straight to happy hour.. sometimes the idea of getting ready in a “crunch” can seem daunting. But, getting ready in a space that is not yours, doesn’t have to be that difficult or time consuming. I have gathered the best hacks I could find for my ladies (and gentlemen) who needs some assistance with their quick post-workout clean routine.

#1: Starting off easy, whether you are hitting the gym in the morning or the evening, always pack your bag the night before. There is nothing worse than having to scramble and decide what outfit to bring for your day; packing the night before gets you out the door quick.

#2: Always carry a facewash or gentle face cleansing wipe in your bag. Be sure to clean your face off as soon as you get the chance; this helps eliminate your chances of a breakout and gets rid of excessive sweat, all while keeping your post-workout glow. If you do not have time for a shower, keep an extra deodorant, body spray and a bottle of dry shampoo in your gym bag. Dry shampoo will become your new BFF.

#3: Invest in a good hair tie. There is nothing worse than letting your hair down and having the dreaded hair tie crease circling your head. Scrunchies are always my go to when I throw my hair up in a top knot. If you re still struggling with your hair looking tame after taking out your bun, then try throwing your hair into a braid for the next workout. Between the braid and the sweaty workout, you will walk out of class with that effortless beachy wave look!

#4: When it comes to hot yoga, sometimes you can feel like you continue sweating after your workout, oh a what a blessing and a curse. If you don’t have time for a quick cold shower, try the “cool” setting on the hair dryer. Sometimes all you need is a burst of cool air to help your body settle down after a good workout.

Finally, #5: Ladies, this one is for you… waterproof mascara. There is nothing better than finding a waterproof mascara to throw on quick to withstand the towel offs, sweaty down dogs, and your quick shower—making it that much easier to head out to conquer your day (or happy hour).
